Ensuring Medical Providers Are Paid On Insurance Claims

Have you been denied an insurance claim for a medical provider? Although changes with the recent passage of Michigan’s 2019 No-Fault Insurance Law are intended to assist medical facilities and individual health care providers collect payments based on insurance claims more easily, doing so can still be an uphill battle. Insurance companies are still making it clear that their top priority is to building better profit margins, rather than paying legitimate medical claims, and the new law has not changed that thus far.

Anthony, Paulovich & Worrall focuses on representing plaintiffs who are seeking damages from insurance companies. We have built a strong local reputation with medical providers who are unable to collect on insurance claims, and do not have the time  to chase after the money that is rightfully owed to them. Our attorneys have state and federal appellate court experience, and we will take your case as far as is necessary to obtain positive results for you.

Understanding How The No-Fault Law Impacts Your Income

The new law will establish a fee schedule that will cover any provider who treats car accident victims, including:

  • Individual physicians or group practices
  • Rehabilitation facilities
  • Clinics
  • Hospitals
  • Level 1 and 2 trauma centers

The fee schedule will be based on Medicare’s standard rates and vary from 190 percent to 250 percent of what is considered payable under Medicare. The type of facility or provider rendering the service will impact what percentage is paid out.

All of this is good news for providers. However, this fee schedule will not apply to treatment or rehabilitation provided for persons injured in car crashes or truck collisions before July 1, 2021, so if you have unpaid claims now, you need our firm to help you collect under Michigan’s current insurance laws. We are also happy to help you plan proactive billing processes that will let you take full advantage of the new law’s benefits when they become available.
